Mr. Jackson started his 21st year in education 2022-23 school year serving as paraprofessional, Special Education and General Education teacher and currently serving as the Head of School of Momentum Academy. Mr. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University and Master of Arts from University of Houston-Clear Lake. He was a football and track coach for 10 years in the Clear Lake area. Mr. Jackson lives in League City with his beautiful wife and lovely daughter. He enjoys BBQ’s, fishing, college football, and preaching God’s word.
Mrs. Ehlers is the Co-Founder of TMA and began preparing to open our school since February 2014. Prompted by the need for a high school for her daughter and the lack of one available in our area, Mrs. Ehlers partnered with Melissa Hodges to start the first. Mrs. Ehlers hold a Bachelor of Science degree from UTMB and a MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University. She taught 7 years at Westminster Christian Academy prior to starting TMA. Mrs. Ehlers, her husband and 2 children live in League City. She enjoys spending time with their friends, traveling, shopping and reading.
Sam Jordan served 4 years in the USAF and then earned a BS in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Florida. After graduating from UF in 1981, he worked 41 years for IBM corporation as a computer programmer. He retired from IBM in early 2022. He and his wife have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. He lives in League City and enjoys playing with computers and reading.
Ms. Villarreal is an honors graduate of the University of Houston Clear Lake. She has 30 years of teaching experience and holds teaching certificates in Generic Special Education, English—Language Arts, and English as a Second Language. She was a charter faculty member at Goforth Elementary in League City and was a Finalist for Teacher of the Year in the Clear Creek Independent School District. Ms. Villarreal loves DIY crafts, traveling to Aruba every summer to volunteer at Vacation Bible School, and spending time with her grown identical twin daughters, Gabriella and Victoria.
Shae Spears has been an educator teaching students with learning differences for 26 years. She taught for twenty-three years in Elementary schools in Special Education before coming to The Momentum Academy. Ms. Spears is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a BA in Elementary Education Early Childhood and a Master's in Special Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has multiple teaching licenses in Texas and Arkansas for Special Education. It also includes certification in English as a second language in Texas. She has genuine and personal compassion for students with multiple disabilities and mental illnesses. She specializes in autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disability, and anxiety. Most recently, she trained in resilience trauma care. She is working on her Teen Mental First Aid to help our students at TMA. “It's not about my disability, but it's about my ability to make a difference.
Ms. Riley has been a Sign Language interpreter for over a decade. Ms. Riley studied music and Bible/missions at Arlington Baptist. This school year is the 18th year for Ms. Riley to teach. Ms. Riley has lived oversees and speaks Russian as well. She Is passionate about sharing with our students and could be heard speaking in English, Russian or silently signing ASL. Ms. Riley has grown children and young grandchildren.
Mr. Panzarella has been an instructor of Martial Arts since 1993 guiding many students through the years in Martial arts and self-defense. Paul emphasizes to his students the importance of respect for your parents, family, friends, and fellow classmates along with encouraging student to do their best in academics to education of the whole child. He has been married for over 49 years and has two adult twin sons, and 2 grandchildren. Mr. Panzarella loves to teach and play drums, bowling, billiards, and played in a musical band.
Mrs. Martel graduated from the University of Dallas with a BA in History and from the University of Texas in Arlington with an MA in History and a teaching certificate for Secondary Social Studies Composite. She taught at Clear Lake High School and then worked as an editor of Space Shuttle and Space Station documentation for a NASA contractor. She is a mother of a current TMA student. She resides with her husband and son in League City.

He holds a Social Studies Composite Teaching Certification and a Masters Degree in Education with emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction. He has served as curriculum team leader and on Advanced Placement advisory boards at 3 area high schools. He attended the University of Delaware, Rutgers University, and the University of Houston main campus. Throughout his career he has also served as a coach and club sponsor. His favorite hobbies include surfing, sailing, scuba diving, and woodworking.

Liz Webb is a CPA with over 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of St. Thomas and her Master of Science in Accounting from The University of Houston: Clear Lake.Liz lives in Houston with her husband and two school-aged sons. She enjoys baking and gardening.
Heather is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University earning her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. As an educator, she has worked in elementary and secondary education for 25 years. Certified in Special Education, many of those years were spent working closely with students with special needs and learning differences. This developed a passion for advocacy and deep love for helping students who struggle succeed. Heather believes in the mission of The Momentum Academy and its ability to help students reach their full potential through the unique learning environment it provides. Heather and her husband, Matthew, live in League City with their four boys.
Paul McRae has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental Management. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in both Texas and California. Paul worked for 34 years in the space industry for a major aerospace company. Paul has an extensive background of volunteer work. He has been a reading tutor for elementary level students along with math tutoring at the elementary level. He has also been a voluntary adult leader and teacher for senior high level students.
Shannon holds a degree in Administration with a focus in Marketing at California Polytechnic University.Shannon is married and shares her home with her husband Tracey, her daughters Kathleen and Gracie, and her 3 dogs and cat! She has lived in League City, Texas for 21 years. She loves sports, specifically football and baseball. She also enjoys traveling and gaming.
Stephanie Ehlers is the Co-Founder of The Momentum Academy and is the Board Chair. She is the Primary Board contact for Admissions and Fundraising. Stephanie has worked in the non-profit setting since 1993, serving in roles ranging from Executive Director to Health Educator. She has worked extensively as a community volunteer since 1995 and has been an advocate for those without a voice. Her mission hit home in 1999 and became very personal for her after the birth of her first child, who has special needs. Stephanie knows that given the right environment, everyone can be successful.Stephanie is an Honors graduate from The University of Texas Medical Branch in 1993, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Administration. She received her Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University in 1997. Stephanie and her husband, Richie, live in the Clear Lake area with their 2 children.
Melissa Hodges is the Co-Founder of The Momentum Academy and is the Board Secretary. She is the Primary Board contact for Evaluations and Curriculum. Melissa is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and specializes in working with children from preschool through high school, as well as having a background working with adult clients. She has been the director of Leaps in Language for 10 years. Previously, Melissa served as the first Speech Therapist at The Joy School in Houston and worked with CCISD. She is known for her commitment to helping her clients achieve success.Melissa graduated from the University of Houston with her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Communication Disorders. She believes in educating the entire family so her clients will have continued success long after they leave her care. She believes each child is a blessing from God with gifts and talents. It is her passion to help them discover their gifts and talents and reach their maximum potential. Melissa lives in the Clear Lake area with her husband, Chad, and their 8 children.
